Firefox is a virtual container that executes web applications safely. It’s too much memory still, but OTOH half an OS. It also doesn’t share anything with the OS like Safari

I tried Astra and it started to fix issues in my code when I just asked a question about it. Then I spent half an afternoon to make sure we really didn’t need that change.

That felt so counter productive.

These models+harnesses seem to be getting better at yolo mode one shotting stuff at the cost of being a useful tool for more controlled software engineering.

The odd thing is that UIKit can easily be transformed into a much more pleasant experience if you just fix some of the worst API’s, like embedding ViewControllers and adding constraints in code.

I had the original AirPods and vowed to never buy them again because replacing the battery was so expensive.

Just ridiculous to throw away expensive audio equipment because battery replacement is as expensive as 50% of a new pair.

While good headphones from the 70s are still good, maybe with some foam replacements.

I love it when you see people with a tether on their airpods to prevent loss. My headphones have a special tether which means they will never need a battery replacement, or indeed a battery

Yet I never had issues doing any design thrown at me using AppKit, UIKit or SwiftUI.

I feel this so much. What was all that fuss about needing 3 levels of approval for any software license? Or having to provide a compare chart against open-source alternatives?

The money would be so much better spent that way as well, supporting individual programmers.

“…if you give it good context…” that’s what the architect session is for basically. You throw around ideas and store the direction you want to go.

Then you execute it with a clean context.

Clean context is needed for maximum performance while not remembering implementation dead ends you already discarded
