Why choose this over the https://openelab.io/a/s/products/banana-pi-bpi-r4-pro-1 ?

Is there a version of the Banana Pi kit that comes with all of the dozen carefully positioned antennas desirable for a tri-band or quad-band wifi 7 setup?

Unfortunately the Flint 4 is still not available which lead me to get the https://openelab.io/a/s/products/banana-pi-bpi-r4-pro-1 instead.

Is this actually stock OpenWRT?

I mean is it supported by vanilla OpenWRT image?

You can run vanilla if you want. Their Turris OS is just a custom distro with some added userspace niceties. One of the coolest is a snapshot system that reduces "unbricking" the device to just a menu click at bootup.

There are even people who have gotten NixOS running on it, apparently.

Frankly I just want https://openelab.io/a/s/products/banana-pi-bpi-r4-pro-1 to work with OpenWRT.

The board linked to in the post doesn't have 10 G LAN, only 10 G WAN unlink. So what do people who have a 10 G internet connection do?

I've been looking for a WiFi 7 router that has SFP+ ports for a while now and it seems what you mentioned is just that.

Yeah, it is controlled by the vendor. If you can't find the option, you will need to use `adb` to enable it that's what I did basically. You can Google it and you'll find what I'm talking about. IRC, it is `pm enable ...`.

Wait hold on, can you not simply just access the underlying volume/block device using an API? The VMs in OCI have a boot volume that is attached, so I reckon it's possible to "mount" this somehow and overwrite it with whatever data you want.

I am not sure. Maybe it's a thing about not being able to download the iso (no network on the console?) or not having space for it or something. I wouldn't know about the API thing. I am not a cloud user.

I wonder if something similar exists for the Snapdragon X Elite-based Microsoft Surface 7 laptops but is simply undocumented. There's a post https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44426428 (The hidden JTAG in a Qualcomm/Snapdragon device’s USB port) obviously about a hidden JTAG, so I begin to wonder.

If someone more experienced with these sorts of things could chime in that would be great.
