This matches my experience. Leadership gives us a weekly "AI is amazing, it's world changing, we're using it for everything". Every project using AI is at least six months late. My team gets praised for using it effectively but we're the team that turned it off. We had an SLA violation because Copilot hallucinated a service we don't have that it claimed was down and we can't convince ops that the service literally doesn't exist. Any amount of time AI could have saved me has been swallowed up tenfold by everyone else having access to it and I hate what work has become.
I feel this. These tools are viscerally unpleasant. Meetings used to be the thing I didn't look forward to but chatting with an AI is the new low point. Reading AI generated text is the written word equivalent of nails on a chalkboard.
It’s very tricky because the IPs are all on normal user ranges you can’t block without blocking those users.
The company behind this blog - spur.us - offer some paid services I think. There is also this project from Wikimedia which uses that data to produce more manageable lists:
#1 seems like the worst possible dystopia. We should shoot for #2 and have #3 as a fallback. The Culture is the worst dystopia I am capable of imagining.
