I'm kind of surprised I haven't heard of more hydropower reservoir + floating solar installation... it seems like an excellent supply/demand/land-area solution!

Most (all?) reservoirs should be freshwater, given that Atlantropa was never constructed.

It's an interesting question for counterexamples.

Afaik, inland salt lakes tend to be below sea level, and I don't think there are too many (any?) ocean->inlet hydro projects. Presumably you'd do wave generation there instead.
